Roman Responsible Gambling

Gambling at Roman is meant to be entertainment. This page sets out the tools available in your account, the external organisations you can contact, and how to reach us directly if you need to make a change. Roman operates under a licence issued by the Curaçao Gaming Control Board (GCB), licence number 5536/JAZ, held by Terdersoft B.V.

Our commitment

Roman holds an active licence from the Curaçao Gaming Control Board (GCB) under licence number 5536/JAZ. Our licence conditions require us to provide age verification, KYC checks before your first withdrawal, and a set of responsible gambling tools accessible from your account. Roman does not hold a UK Gambling Commission licence and is not integrated with GAMSTOP.

Tools available

All account-holders can access responsible gambling controls directly from the Responsible Gambling section of their account dashboard. No need to contact support to set most of these.

The tools available to you are:

  • Deposit limits: set a daily, weekly, or monthly cap on how much you deposit
  • Loss limits: cap the amount you can lose over a defined period
  • Session time limits: restrict how long a single session can run
  • Reality checks: receive on-screen reminders at intervals you choose, showing time spent and activity during the session
  • Time-outs (cool-off periods): take a short break from your account for a set period
  • Self-exclusion: close your account for a defined period or indefinitely

Limits you set take effect immediately. Requests to reduce a limit are applied straight away. Requests to increase a limit may be subject to a cooling-off period before they come into force. Self-exclusion closes your account and blocks access for the duration you select.

Signs to watch for

Some patterns can indicate that gambling has shifted from entertainment to something more difficult to manage.

  • Chasing losses by placing further bets to recover money already lost
  • Spending more time or money gambling than you originally planned
  • Gambling affecting time with family, friends, or work commitments
  • Borrowing money or using funds set aside for other purposes to gamble
  • Feeling irritable or restless when you are not gambling
  • Concealing how much time or money you spend on gambling

Where to get help

Several organisations offer free, confidential support. None of them require you to be in crisis to make contact.

  • GamCare: 0808 8020 133 or gamcare.org.uk
  • BeGambleAware: begambleaware.org
  • Gamblers Anonymous: gamblersanonymous.org.uk
  • GamStop (national self-exclusion scheme for UK-licensed sites): gamstop.co.uk

All four operate independently of Roman. Their services are free of charge.
